Referral disclosure

Draft: to be reviewed by East Coast Realty or counsel before launch.

We refer. Your local agent represents you.

Josh Roy and Jen Rothbart are licensed real estate agents with East Coast Realty. When you're buying or selling outside the area where we're licensed, we act as a referral agent. We introduce you to a licensed agent in that market. That agent, not us, represents you in the transaction and will give you any agency disclosures your state requires.

How we're paid

Referrals cost you nothing extra. If you close with the agent we introduce, their brokerage pays East Coast Realty a referral fee of 25% of that agent's commission. The fee is paid brokerage to brokerage at closing, under a written referral agreement signed before we introduce you.

What we do and don't do in a referral

  • We listen to what you need and match you with an agent in your market.
  • We confirm the agent holds an active license in the state where you're buying or selling.
  • We check in with you through closing.
  • We don't advise you on price, offers or negotiation in a referral. Your agent does.

Your choice

You're never required to use the agent we introduce. If the fit isn't right, tell us and we'll suggest someone else, or you can choose any agent you like.

Working with us directly

In Greater Boston, you can work with Josh and Jen directly as your agents. In that case we represent you, and we'll give you the Massachusetts agency disclosure at our first meaningful conversation about a specific property.
